Anthony Borgia - Class Of 1976

Anthony Vincent Borgia
06/02/1959 - 02/23/2024

Our beloved Anthony passed away unexpectedly on February 23, 2024 in Las Vegas, Nevada. Anthony was born in Trenton, New Jersey on June 2, 1959 where he spent his childhood. Growing up, many summers were enjoyed in Italy with his extended Calabrian family and Wildwood by the Sea, New Jersey.

He attended St Anthony’s High School in Trenton, New Jersey and Notre Dame International School in Rome, Italy where he excelled in both academics and sports. He graduated from St. Joseph’s University, Philadelphia followed by Temple University School of Podiatric Medicine, earning his Doctor of Podiatric Degree and Fellow in the American College of Foot and Ankle Surgeons. His postgraduate residency included the Pennsylvania College of Podiatric Medicine, the University of Massachusetts Medical School, and St. Joseph’s Hospital in Philadelphia.

In 1991, he moved to Las Vegas and opened his practice, Silver State Foot & Ankle Institute. For the next three decades, he successfully continued to help thousands of people as a skilled surgical specialist. His last position was at the Las Vegas Vascular and Interventional Specialists. In addition, he was chief of Podiatric Medicine at various hospitals and an Associate Professor of Podiatric Medicine.

Anthony loved music and enjoyed playing guitar. He wrote many songs and was both a vocalist and guitarist in a rock band during his college years. In his spare time, Anthony enjoyed the freedom of riding motorcycles with the POBOB MC and his friends. Although he traveled to many places during his lifetime, most summers would be spent in Cape May, New Jersey, with his immediate family. He lit up every room he walked into with his bigger than life personality.

He was very dedicated to his Catholic faith and became a member of the 3rd-Order Franciscans. Anthony shared his faith through his many acts of charity including involvement in prison ministry, caring for the podiatric needs of the homeless, and Discalced Carmelites of Jesus, Mary, and Joseph in Las Vegas.

Anthony is survived by his fiance Julie Van Doren, his son Nicholas Frank Borgia, and daughter Mia Isabella Borgia, all of Las Vegas. In addition, his sisters Marie “Bella” Pumilio, Gaetana Iseicz (Henry), Angela Borgia Walsack (Phil), and Genevieve Costantino (Donald), sister in law Michiko Borgia, and many nieces and nephews will always miss him. He was predeceased by his parents Carmela and Frank Borgia, his brother Joseph Borgia, his brother-in-law James Pumilio, and nephew Anthony Jude DiNatale.

A funeral Mass will be held on Wednesday, March 20, 2024 at St. Gregory the Great Catholic Church in Hamilton Square, New Jersey. Calling hours begin at 9:30 am followed by a Mass at 11:00 am. Immediately afterward his committal service will be held at Our Lady of Lourdes Cemetery in Hamilton, New Jersey.
