Joseph "Joe Bear" Guerra, 60, of Hamilton, entered into God's loving care on Wednesday, Dec. 6, 2017, at his residence in Hamilton. Born in Trenton, he was a lifelong area resident. Joe Bear, as he was affectionately known, was a graduate of St. Joachim's Grammar School, St. Anthony's High School Class of 1975, and Rider College. Joe was formerly employed with RCA Corporation and was presently employed with the State of New Jersey Division of Pensions, with 29 years of dedicated service. Joe was a lifelong parishioner of Our Lady of the Angels Parish, St. Joachim's Church, and a longtime member of Chambersburg Little League. He was an avid baseball fan, from professional to Little League ball. He devoted much of his time to the youth community, coaching for Broad Street Park and Trenton Scroth's of Mercer County American Legion Baseball League. Joe was also a coach for the St. Joachim's Girls' CYO basketball team. In 2013, as part of its 50th year celebration, Trenton Catholic Academy (which includes St. Anthony's and McCorristin High School) honored 50 of its most outstanding athletes; Joe was honored as one of the top baseball catchers to come out of St. Anthony's. Joe Bear touched the lives of so many people in various ways; he will be remembered by all as "Everyone's Friend." Predeceased by his parents, Joseph A. and Theresa (Chianese) Guerra, Joe is survived by his brother, Vincent Guerra, as well as several cousins and many friends. The funeral will be held at 8:15 a.m. Tuesday, Dec. 12, from D'Errico Whitehorse Mercerville Chapel, 2365 Whitehorse Mercerville Rd., Hamilton, NJ, Hamilton Brenna-Cellini facility. A Mass of Christian Burial will be celebrated at 9:30 a.m. Tuesday at Our Lady of the Angels Parish, St. Joachim's Church, 20-56 Butler St., Trenton, NJ. Burial will follow in Our Lady of Lourdes Cemetery, 400 Woolsey St., Hamilton, NJ. Calling hours will be Monday, Dec. 11, from 5 to 8 p.m., at the funeral home.
