Thomas A. Chepiga TRENTON- Thomas A. Chepiga, 54, of Trenton completed his journey in this life and entered into the Kingdom of his Lord and Savior this past week after courageously battling a long illness. Born and raised in Hamilton, he moved to North Carolina in 1995 for five years before returning to the Freehold, Hamilton and Trenton areas. He attended St. Raphael's Grammar School and graduated from St. Anthony's H.S., class of 74. He received his bachelor of science degree from St. Joseph's University- Class of '78, and continued on to receive his Ph.D. in toxicology from Rutgers University. He began his professional work as a hydrologist for the US Geological Survey and worked as a toxicologist with international duties for several industries. In later years, he was employed by the State of NJ as a research scientist. Son of the late William E. and Elizabeth L. Yurcho Chepiga, he is survived by his two sons, Aaron W. and Nick F. Chepiga of Lawrenceville; a brother and sister-in-law, William M. and Ellen Chepiga of Hamilton; a sister and brother-in-law, Susan E. and Robert Agos of Mansfield Township; his former wife, Mary M. Chepiga, and six nieces and nephews, Katie M. Chepiga, Daniel and Matthew Agos, Christopher M., Lauren E. and Emily A. Chepiga. Tom was a kind and generous soul. He always thought of others before himself. Tom enjoyed many activities and had varied interests. His family was central in his life. His beloved guitar and the Philadelphia sports teams were also his passion. He will be dearly missed by his immediate family who eagerly await a reunion with him in heaven. The funeral will be at 8:30 a.m. Tuesday from the Buklad Yardville Memorial Chapel, 30 Yardville Allentown Road, Yardville, with Mass of Christian Burial celebrated at 9:30 a.m. in St. Raphael's Church. Burial will follow in St. Mary's Cemetery in Hamilton. Friends may call on Monday evening from 6 - 8 p.m. at the memorial chapel.
